About Me
Warren Zev Haft is the pseudonym for Warren Firschein. Under my real name, I've written several middle grade books, including Out of Synch, the popular novel about the sport of synchronized swimming. Previously, I was the co-founder and managing editor of Odet, a literary journal published between 2017-2020. I am also the co-author of A Brief History of Safety Harbor, Florida, published by The History Press in 2013. I grew up in New Jersey, and I am a graduate of the University of Rochester, Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where I served as an editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Until recently, I served as an long-time attorney for the Federal Communications Commission, most recently as Legal Counsel to the FCC's Managing Director.
I am currently based in Tampa, Florida.
Why Use a Pseudonym?
When I became a full-time writer, I decided to change my name to one that people can read, pronounce, and remember. I chose Haft, which was my mother's maiden name, and I am proud to adopt it as my own.
